The center of our home galaxy. Surprisingly this image came out a lot better than I thought it would. I took a mere 11, 5 minute exposures with the 6D and a 50mm F1.8 @ F2.8 ISO 1600 to create this. Amazing camera.

This is looking towards the center of our home galaxy. Although the galaxy is a huge disc shaped object, we see it as a stripe in the sky because we are inside of it, looking at it edge on. Think of the perspective an atom would have inside of a dinner plate.
