I reached out to them to ask for the 4.1.0.5 firmware to roll back to, and they refused to provide it.

Luckily, a nice user on the Zmodo forums had the firmware and made it available to me. Rolling it back fixed the issues.

I am making it available here becasue Zmodo sucks.

Make sure this is the firmware you need before rolling back your Zmodo Camera. I accept no responsibility if you hose your camera.

TO ROLL BACK

STEP 1: Open Zviewer
STEP 2: On the left hand side of the window in device list you will see your cam IPC-192-168-1-?? RIGHT CLICK with your mouse
STEP 3: LEFT CLICK “REMOTE SETTINGS”
STEP 4: LEFT CLICK “ADVANCED SETTINGS”
STEP 5: LEFT CLICK “UPDATE”
STEP 6: LEFT CLICK “MANUALLY UPDATE”
STEP 7: Another pop up box will open…LEFT CLICK “left hand box with the 3 dots” browse for the software you downloaded & click on it
STEP 8: LEFT CLICK “UPDATE”

SUCCESS

If you remove the DNS entry for the wifi settings on the cam, it shouldn't auto upgrade.
